Sports physicals are required yearly. The purpose of the sports physical questionnaire and exam is to screen for underlying disorders that may cause harm to your child when playing sports. During the sports physical, Dr. O'Shields will review your family history and your child's history to screen for underlying heart or lung disease. Occasionally, further evaluation by a pediatric specialist, such as a cardiologist, will be necessary before the sports physical forms may be signed "clearing" your child for sports. Please schedule your child's sports physical as early as possible to avoid delays in obtaining clearance for sports.
